Launching of the first annotated outline of a civil society report on The ‘new urban agenda’: prospects, challenges and recommendations . This is a collaborative research report by different constituencies of the civil society – India and global, representing social organisations, policy think tanks, research institutes etc. The report is first of its kind, analysing the different tenets of the New Urban Agenda , providing insights across different cities of the global. The major chapters are :- Right to the City , Livelihood and Informal Economy , Inclusive city , Urban Governance etc. The event will be a discussion around the opportunities that New Urban Agenda provides, and what it means for the different cities across the world. The side event will be participated by a panel of urban thinkers – representatives from different countries , and also from grass-root communities.
This side event will try to bring different constituencies together, into a common dialogue, to discuss different principles, vision and mission of the New Urban Agenda.
It will culminate by building an advocacy agenda for collective implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
