Summary

In the recent modern developments, Smart and Sustainable Cities is on the rising trend. In establishing and building these smart and sustainable cities, three Sustainable Development pillars namely Economic, Environment and Social are greatly considered. It can be seen that different cities have different issues and goals. As such, a more holistic and cohesive goals known as the Sustainable Development Goals was created to be the general guide and accepted by world leaders. Altogether there are 17 Goals and 169 targets. During the implementation process, it is necessary and critical for a measurement method in measuring the success and identifying gaps of the implementation efforts. This can be achieved by proper measurement index and also integrated into scoreboards. This production of the index and scoreboards through collaborative PPP platform of GSIAC Smart Cities Alliance, Sustainable Development Sustainable Network, Jeff Sach's Center Sunway, Plan Malaysia and Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government of Malaysia and Department of Statistics Malaysia. Through data integration and analytics into insights, a more predictive and effective city planning can be achieved. This is closely related to the outcomes of the New Urban Agenda, Cities 2030, Cities for All is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
