Summary

The focus of the side event is to highlight the role that ICT and IOT can play in creating Smart and Sustainable Cities, and show how we have been successful in utilizing IOT to help address climate change in Malaysia. Further on, we will showcase ongoing IOT projects in other parts of the world addressing water and air quality monitoring issues as well as describing a high resolution real-time rain monitoring solution utilizing existing cellular network infrastructure. This directly supports the New Urban Agenda's Implementation Plan, in particular relating to Environmentally Sustainable and Resilient Urban Development. The projects that we wish to highlight in the event also directly supports SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being, SDG 6, Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 11, sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 13, Climate Action.
