Summary

Regarding the implementation of the New Urban Agenda, we intend to enlighten the key issues of inclusiveness in smart city and urban services. Finding the right way to organize governance and partnership between, states, local authorities, private sector and citizens in an innovative way will be a turning point in the years to come, in order to achieve the international engagements. Building fair and accessible digital services, but also protecting the use of personal and territorial data are crucial questions in urban planning (in NUA and SDGs) and which would deserve a dedicated international document.

Our project here is to launch the process of international guidelines about digital transition, just like it was made for decentralization, basic services and territorial planning. In this purpose, the networking event will create dialogue between political representatives, specialists of digital issues, key international technology and urban services companies, public administration representatives and the civil society. More precisely, we will insist on three main aspects: 1) Digital issues also play an important role in achieving inclusiveness in our future cities by erasing social and territorial discrepancies when they are well implemented. 2) How to deal with data protection to ensure a fair, confident and well balanced access for the common good of the population? 3) The necessity of including the citizens in this partnership-oriented debate in between private companies and public administration. To sum up, our networking event intends to build milestones towards a fair and well-balanced urban future using digital opportunities.
