Partners:
- Department of Cooperative Governance, South African Local Government Association
The Government of South Africa, through its Department of Human Settlements and in partnership with the Department of Cooperative Governance and the South African Local Government Association is crafting a Localisation Framework for the New Urban Agenda to support the development of concrete plans by sector stakeholders. In consultation with a wide range of actors under the National Forum on Human Settlements and Urban Development, South Africa has assessed the status quo and seeks to foster partnership networks with relevant actors to support the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. The Networking Event will explore the approaches to give effect to the commitments in the New Urban Agenda. It will focus on how multiple actors and roleplayers collaborate to ensure planning and implementation alignment, sustainable and inclusive urban development, and the achievement of Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals. The networking event will take the form of a conversation between multiple actors to enhance the implementation frameworks for the New Urban Agenda.
